Succession and rotation plan for the WBN Board of Directors

At the start of this year, the WBN – Worldwide Broker Network announced a major change in its governance, illustrating the strengthening of its international dimension and the growing diversity of its governing bodies.

In this context, Benjamin Verlingue, Chief Executive Officer of the Adelaïde Group, has been appointed Treasurer of WBN, a key role within the Board of Directors of the world’s leading network of independent brokers. He will work alongside Gurpal Dhingra, Joint Managing Director of Prudent Insurance Brokers Pvt Ltd. (India), who was recently appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors.

A strengthened commitment to serving businesses internationally

This shift in governance is taking place in an environment where international issues are becoming increasingly strategic for business leaders, particularly in terms of risk management. With overseas operations, international supply chains and multiple partners, companies are operating in a context marked by ongoing geopolitical tensions and growing complexity.

In this context, Benjamin Verlingue’s commitment to WBN is fully in line with the DNA of VERLINGUE and, more broadly, the Adelaïde Group: supporting companies and their teams around the world with tailored, consistent and effective risk management solutions.

In recent years, the Adelaïde group has accelerated its international development, with new offices in Europe, the recruitment of experts, and the deployment of innovative digital tools dedicated to multi-country risk analysis and management. The support of a network as structured and powerful as WBN is an essential lever in providing comprehensive support to our clients.

A rapidly expanding network

Beyond its governance, WBN is also pursuing a growth strategy with the arrival of new members:

  • Alpha Insurance Broker (Cambodia),
  • EXL Consulting (Greece & Cyprus),
  • STARSEG Corredores de Seguros – Grupo Kieffer (Paraguay),
  • Nordic Broker NB Oy (Finland),
  • as well as the expansion of Associated Alliance’s presence in Lebanon, Jordan and Oman.

These additions further broaden the network’s geographical coverage and expertise, serving international clients.

This transition is also an opportunity to acknowledge the commitment of Brian Hetherington, who is stepping down as Chairman of WBN after many years marked by structural successes and a decisive contribution to the development of the network.

His work has had a lasting impact on WBN, making it a key player in global independent brokerage.
